Review and Recipes: Breville Blend Active

Those of you who follow me on Instagram will know that there’s a new love in my
life- The Blend Active Blender/Smoothie Maker by Breville.

Although I eat a varied, fairly healthy diet, I struggle to get my 7 a day in, particularly during months where there’s not much seasonal fruit on offer, so I looked in to getting a juicer. After a few discussions with people and a trawl through the internet I decided to get this little beauty in favour of a juice extractor.

The great thing about blenders is that, unlike a juicer, instead of separating the pulp from the
juice it just blends it all together. Less waste and lots more nutrients- boom. Plus the fact that for me (greedy with an insatiable hunger) having more bulk to my drink would keep me fuller for longer.  I bought mine from Amazon for £26.

It’s an absolute piece of piss to use, and more importantly, to wash up. Put your ingredients in the bottle, screw on the lid, tip it upside down and clip into the blender. Then blend it
all together, unscrew it, whack on a lid and drink up.

I honestly can’t recommend it enough and it seems a lot of other people like the look of it too, I posted a photo on my personal Facebook and five of my friends have already bought one.

Do you prefer juicing or blending? What’s your favourite flavour? Post your recipe below or send me a photo to @rosieposiebtn on Twitter or Instagram!

Strawberry, kiwi, grape, banana and yoghurt

I've been debating buying one of these for ages! I revisited your blog and thought I may as well – an absolute bargain on Amazon at the minute, just £20. I've had a smoothie every single day and I may become a bit more adventurous with it after seeing this.

That IS a bargain! Really pleased your enjoying it. I've been 'back in the game' for a few days and i'm already noticing the difference in my energy levels and my skin!

I really wanna get this but i'm one of those people who can't swallow lumpy liquid (Don't.) so does it make it really smooth or does it have those stringy gooey bits like bitty orange juice? Cos the thought of swallowing it is just -*voms in mouth*

Hmmmm, i'm not sure this is going to be the best option for you then luv, it's a bit like a fruit soup and if that ain't your bag then I wouldn't recommend xx

I have both a Breville Blendactive and a juicer. I do love juicing but it's so tedious having to clean it all out afterwards. The blendactive is brilliant though – I make smoothies and shakes in it all the time. Such a bargain too.

I have only been using the Breville Blend Active for a few days now and I like it. I bought this as a replacement for my Kenwood blender which I broke 🙁 (never put a glass blender full of green smoothie at the front of a packed refrigerator shelf)
Pros Compact takes up very little space on my kitchen counter
    Love the colour 🙂
Bottles supplied are tough, BPA free and have strong secure non leak tops.
Cons I wish the capacity was larger–because of this I have to blend smoothies in batches–really miss the large capacity of my Kenwood.

Hi, I really like the sound of your avocado, mint, cucumber, mango, spinach & apple juice smoothie. Could you let me know ratios of each please, as I'd like to do this tonight?
    Thank you.

    Hey,

    Incredible post you have shared.
Beets in this solid natural product smoothie deliver nitric corrosive, which expands blood stream all through your body—including to your mind. X-rays done on more seasoned grown-ups demonstrated that subsequent to eating a high-nitrate count calories (counting beet squeeze), these grown-ups had more blood stream to the white matter of their frontal projections. Truly this post is useful for us.

    Thanks,
    Frank
