These are a few of my favourite things #17

I’m going to keep it brief this week cos I’m absolutely knackered.  It’s been a full on week in my new job, I’ve had a lot of sun, got a bit of a headache and an extremely early night is on the cards.

It’s been the most blissful Brighton weekend, beach, friends, sun, eating out and even more beach.  I always love living on the South Coast, but never more so than during the summer, having the beach as my front garden is one of the things that make me happiest.

As it’s now bikini season my instagram/twitter/facebook is going crazy with people doing panic work-outs, I actually thought about going for a run the other day (it would’ve been my first ever), then I had a cuppa and watched Eastenders instead. I really wish I was one of those people who enjoyed exercise, I just don’t, the mere thought of it makes me want to have a lie down!

Another brilliant thing about my new office
The best icecream flavour EVER

I thought it had been discontinued so nearly jumped for joy in Tesco when I saw this beauty had made a comeback. I ate the whole tub, in one sitting, whilst sitting in bed with my electric blanket on full blast- if you ever wondered what marriage material looks like…

My guilty pleasure

It’s tacky as hell and most of the clientele wouldn’t look out of place in the green room at Jeremy Kyle, but it’s so much fun.  Don’t knock it ’til you’ve tried it folks, every person I’ve dragged there has become a convert.  Plus it’s 4 pints for a tenner- I’d give the food a miss though…

The best breakfast

For the first time in what feels like forever I’m going to rhapsodise about a breakfast that didn’t come from Joe’s Cafe.  This dreamboat came from Riddle & Finns, and oh my god, perfection is the only word to describe it.

The poached egg had a perfectly runny yolk, the black pudding was some of the nicest I’ve ever tasted, the wild mushrooms were buttery and delicious, and scallops, on a cooked breakfast, absolutely life changing.

They only do breakfast on weekends and I believe it’s due to stop for the summer soon, so get down there and try one out while you still can, absolutely phenomenal.

A new discovery

The Hearth Pizzeria in Lewes is one of the most random restaurants I’ve been to in a long time, I’m going to do a full review in the next week or so, so keep an eye out for it.

My happy place

I know smoking’s not cool, but I love a fag in the sunshine, and I’ve cut down from 10 a day to about 10 a week maximum- don’t judge me.

Also that candle, I never go for floral ones, but this one smells exactly like hyacinths and I love it.
