This week has been a right old mixed bag. It started badly with a parking ticket and a run in with the Traffic Warden who gave it to me but has ended in the most lovely weekend so I can’t really complain about all the shit that’s come in the middle. Life’s just like that sometimes.
I’m really looking forward to a five day weekend, it’s kicking off in spectacular fashion with cocktails and supper at The Salt Room with Jenna, a meal out with friends on Friday and Easter Sunday at my Mum’s, I can’t wait. Other than that the Saturday, Monday and Tuesday will be spent blogging and working on a new project too, I’ve got a lot on my plate at the moment, but hopefully a lot of it is about to come good, fingers crossed.
If you’re a mini eggs fan then you need them in your life while they’re still available. I haven’t yet been able to track down the selection box with three variations of the above, so if anyone’s seen them anywhere please let me know in the comments section at the bottom of the post.
I’m a long time fan of feelunique, and for anyone who’s a lover of beauty products this really is one of the best sites there is to buy them from. In terms of shampoo and conditioner, every now and again I deviate from my beloved Redken as I’m sure there must be a cheaper alternative out there that’ll make my hair just as happy, but I always end up running back to it. With the discount this was £22 I think, which at nearly £15 a bottle in the salon this is much better value. The mascara was bought on a whim really as it had 40% off and I love Stila. I’m still happily making my way through my Benefit Rollerlash at the moment, so will report back once I make a start on it.
There’s free delivery with orders over £10, they’re forever emailing discount codes of up to 30% and it’s always arrives within a few days too.
Partners Café in Arundel must have been open at least 25 years now. I used to go there as a teenager with a stinking hangover and lived off their bacon sandwiches for breakfast when I worked at the restaurant over the road as well. I went there for brunch with my Mum and her best friend Christian and we had a right hoot. Breakfast was delicious other than the sausages, which had been deep fried, and I am not about that. But if you find yourself in Arundel, then there’s no place better for a fry up.
After brunch with my Mum I headed even further into the countryside to see my best friends and their children, my God children. I think the smile on my face says it all about how I feel about them. Supper of crispy sticky pork belly, egg fried rice and asparagus was amazing too. As always, I left happy, full and wishing that they didn’t live so far away from me.
This was a reward to myself for all of the life admin I achieved yesterday and today. Yes, I”m a fully fledged ‘grown up’ yet still have to incentivise myself to do tedious chores. Everything was perfect, but the crème brûlée tart was the star of the show as usual.
Following a weekend of fry ups and cake, some sort of auto-pilot took over my body, and before I knew it, my trip to buy muesli and cat food turned into a kind of mini supermarket sweep down the healthy aisles of Tesco. I’m hoping that the spelt pasta isn’t going to taste rank and will be a bloat-free alternative to wheat based ones, as rye bread has (begrudgingly) become to normal bread. I’m experimenting with the almond butter as an alternative to my usual daily dose of the salted cashew kind from M&S. It’s probably still just as fattening, but it’ll be nice for a change, and better still, it doesn’t contain palm oil either!
